Description
If you want to use the Western Digital SATA RAID controller in Windows 2000, XP or 2003 (probably Windows NT too, as mentioned in readme.txt), you need to install the driver. After download the drivers.zip, extract this zip file to a blank floppy.
The drivers.zip basically contains the FastTrak TX4000/S150 TX Series Driver Diskette, thus the blank floppy diskette is needed.
The Western Digital SATA RAID uses a 32bits PCI slot. You may want to power down your system before install the controller.
After secure the Western Digital SATA RAID to the system frame, connect the LED cable from your casing to the SATA controller. Then only you connect the SATA cable from SATA harddisk to the controller.
After that, power up your system and insert the floppy disk that contains the extracted Western Digital SATA RAID controller\'s driver.
As stated in Western Digital website, this driver is compatible with older first generation WD SATA Caviar SE 7200rpm as well as the super fast (and expensive too) WD Raptor 10000rpm harddisk.
You can also use archived controller card software (old software?) with this driver.
