HP says a driver is not available for the 1012 for Vista 64 and offers tech support for $39 and the opportunity to buy a new printer. All of which are way more expensive than what can be purchased locally.

This is strange. If HP says no Vista 64 driver is available for the HP 1012 printer, how can the tech support help in this? The tech support probably will tell you the same thing: no driver support for Windows Vista.

Hmm..so if I were you, I would save the $39 and top up some more $ and trade in the 1012 as well, to get a new printer which has Vista 64 driver support.

Just my 2 cents.
