Description

The latest version as of writing for Microsoft IntelliType Pro is 8.2 or more specifically 8.20.469.0 available in both 32bit and 64bit Windows. You will need to know whether your Windows is 32bit or 64bit in order to download and install the correct version.

To determine the correct version of Windows you are using, follow the following steps:

1. Click Start button
2. Type 'system' in the Start Search box, and then click system in the Programs list.
3. The operating system is displayed as follows:
   1. For a 64-bit version operating system, 64-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.
   2. For a 32-bit version operating system, 32-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.

With IntelliType Pro 8.2, setup automatically detects your keyboard model. If you have more than one keyboard attached to your computer, each keyboard model can have different settings. PS/2 devices are no longer supported in IntelliType Pro 8.2.

So why do you need to install IntelliType Pro software? Well it enables you to customize the unique features of your Microsoft® keyboard to fit your needs. With IntelliType Pro software,

1. you can reassign many of the keys to open a program, file, or Web page, or to perform commands, such as Search.
2. Each application you use can have different key assignments.
3. You can disable keys you sometimes press accidentally, like CAPS LOCK.
4. You can configure the software for automatic updates and opt-in to participate in our customer experience improvement program.
