Description
Below is installation guideline for this Dell Vostro 1400 touch-pad driver:
- Download the R165804.exe to your Vostro 1400 system.
- Double click on the R165804.exe file.
- The Self-Extracting window will appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R165804.
- The Self-Extractor window appears.
- Click OK to continue.
- After the extraction complete, open Windows Explorer. Go to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R165804 to look for setup.exe
- Double click on the setup.exe to start the installation.
- Select Continue when prompted.
- Click the [Next] button when the installation wizard is displayed.
- Click the [Finish] button when the driver installation completes.
- Click the [Restart Now] button to restart the computer.
- Double click on the R165804.exe file.
- The Self-Extracting window will appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R165804.
- The Self-Extractor window appears.
- Click OK to continue.
- Open your Dell system [Control Panel].
- Select [Performance and Maintenance].
- Click on [System].
- Choose the [Hardware] tab.
- Click on the [Device Manager] button.
- Select [PS/2 Compatible Mouse] under [Mice and other pointing devices] category.
- From the [Action] menu, choose [Update Driver...].
- Choose [No, not this time] and then press the [Next] button.
- Select [Install from a list of specific location (Advanced)] and then press the [Next] button.
- Select [Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.] and then press the [Next] button.
- Click the [Have Disk...] button.
- Click on the [Browse...] button and then specify the .inf file of the driver. The ApInst.inf file is the one that you are looking for.
- Click the [OK] button when the .inf file is specified.
- Press the [Next] button
- Click the [Finish] button when the driver installation completes.
- Please restart your computer to complete the setup.
